new 'do, into the (wild) blue

today i got my hair chopped...i had convinced myself that africa would be a good place to try out a new short style, but i must admit that i was a bit nervous when i showed up at the appointment this morning...haven't had short hair since about 1st grade. but it turned out there was nothing to fear...shawn is an absolute genius and i love my new look! now i'm ready to beat the heat (or at least hang in there...i still prefer snowy winter days to the heat of summer).

will be taking off tomorrow evening, arriving in ghana on wednesday. i don't know exactly when i'll be able to get to the computer lab but look for an entry from africa sometime in the next week! woo hoo!

Again, everytime I see you (or a picture in this case) you have a different hair style. I was just thinking that you could not arive in Ghana at a more perfect time; Ghana vs USA Thurs. @ 2:00pm GMT (I'm talkin' World Cup if you haven't guessed). It must be an atmosphere unlike any other. Cheer for the US if must, but I'm gonna be a traitor as always and say GO GHANA!!! I hope there will be pictures of the massive parties after the Black Stars ground the US into the ground and advance to the next round.

thanks eric! i'm not sure if my tour will be over in time for the game...and i have no clue how to even make a local call yet. but i will definitely try to get in touch with jennifer as soon as i figure things out. and yes, it should be really exciting to see the game-time atmosphere here. i hope i can get off the ship to see it up close. will post pics if i get any. -jenn
